However, research has focused on stigma from individual, firm, or category-level characteristics. While stigma created by the geographic location of the firm has been largely ignored, even though this stigma is widespread. In this study, the authors attempt to demonstrate how the location of a firm, when stigmatized, can impact the firm's ability to acquire capital. |
