Collaborative projects were sponsored by the CCSS (formerly ISS) from 2004 to 2020.
These projects were led by a social scientist, comprised of multiple faculty from different disciplinary backgrounds, and examined contemporary social science issues of common interest. These projects built on nascent areas of faculty expertise and created new research synergies among faculty across campus. Before 2016, the CCSS supported Theme Projects, but the name was changed to Collaborative Projects to emphasize the CCSS’ interest in interdisciplinary projects and to include members from multiple colleges on campus.
