Untangling How Deportation Relief Affects Immigrants

ISS Deportation Relief theme project faculty team members

On April 18, members of the ISS Deportation Relief project held their capstone lecture detailing the 3 years of research they have done on the impact of temporary protected status (TPS) on immigrants’ experiences both as students and workers. This innovative research examines a unique set of immigrants, since much of past US immigration research has been focused on undocumented immigrants. Gathering data for this project posed many challenges for team members since the most vulnerable immigrants are the most likely subset to avoid contact with government officials and other institutions.
