His book, Children of the Prison Boom, was honored by the Inequality, Poverty, and Mobility Section of the American Sociological Association.
Co-authored with Sarah Wakefield, Rutgers University, the book describes the devastating effects of parental imprisonment on children. Wildeman is a member of the ISS’ project on the Causes, Consequences, and Future of Mass Incarceration in the United States and a professor in the Department of Policy Analysis and Management.
