Artur Zimerman

Prof. Artur Zimerman is a Visiting Scholar from the Universidade Federal do ABC in São Paulo, Brazil, where he is a professor on public policy in the Engineering and Applied Social Sciences Center.  His research and teaching focuses on land conflicts and violence, primarily in Brazil. Zimerman’s published works include Agrarian Determinants of Civil Wars, Bloodstained Land, and Land Kills: The Brazilian Experience.  Within the ISS’ Contested Global Landscapes’ project, he is researching environmental security and land scarcity through a lens focuses on land conflicts and violence within Latin American countries.
